Breeding to an Andalusian

Brando

1999 Andalusian Stallion, PRE (Pure Spanish Horse), 15.3 hands, Bay

Every once in a while, a stallion comes along that possesses ideal conformation, movement, rideability, pedigree, and heart.  Brando combines all of these traits with beauty and elegance that is unsurpassed.  Brando comes from strong dressage bloodlines (his sire, Navarre GF, was ranked 5th in the USEF's Current Leading Dressage Sires in 2005).  Brando is a shining example of why the Andalusian is referred to as "the Horse of Kings."

Conformation

Form following function would best describe Brando's ideal conformation.  An uphill build, with a short, strong back make collection easy for this stallion.  Brando has clean, straight legs with correct angles which allow him to have lofty, ground-covering gaits.  An elegant neck and head with large, bright eyes are just the icing on the cake!

Movement

Brando has three lovely gaits.  His walk is pure, with good reach and overstep.  His trot is forward and lofty.  His canter is simply to die for...rhythmical and bold with lots of jump!  Brando has a good hindleg, and always engages himself from behind.

Rideability

Brando is extremely rideable and trainable.  He is very intelligent, and loves to work.  His training sessions occur in an 8 acre open field, not in an enclosed arena.  He is a joy to ride and train!

Pedigree

Brando has an exceptional pedigree.  His sire, Navarre GF, was ranked 5th in the USEF's Current Leading Dressage Sires in 2005.  His Grand Dam, Ladina, was one of the most celebrated Andalusian mares.  Brando's 1/2 brother, Gorron GF by Navarre GF, is currently competing at Fourth Level with Janne Rumbough with great success.

Heart

Brando has tremendous heart!  This kind, gentle stallion is truly a pleasure to work with.  He tries hard to please his rider every day.  He is the ultimate over-achiever!
